  Before Federal Reserve Notes featured only green Treasury Department Seals, there were a number of different notes in America. Collect 5 of these unique notes in this $5 Collection. This grouping represents the three different types of bank notes in circulation from 1928-1963. All five $5 bills feature similar designs - Abraham Lincoln on the front and the Lincoln Memorial on the back. The most noticeable difference is the color of the seal, but the wording on each bank note is also different to reflect the issuing entity and the mode of redemption. This Set of 5 Obsolete $5 Bank Notes includes: 1928 $5 U.S. Note with a red seal - this was the first small-size bank note following the switch from large-size notes, which were about 50% bigger. 1934 $5 Silver Certificate with blue seal - the first small-size Silver Certificate. Unlike other bank notes, Silver Certificates were actually backed by real silver in the Treasury, and the holder of the bank note could exchange it for a Silver Dollar until the 1960s. 1934 $5 Federal Reserve Note with green seal - Federal Reserve Notes eventually became the only circulating currency, but in 1934, they were just one of many types. 1953 $5 Silver Certificate with blue seal - this was the last series of $5 Silver Certificates. They circulated until 1969, when they were no longer allowed to be exchanged for silver. 1953 or 1963 $5 U.S. Note with red seal - these were the last U.S. Notes and the last series of $5 bills with a seal other than green.

  Own a special piece of United States history with a rare 1935A "Hawaii" $1 Bill. On December 7, 1941 the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor - the event that launched the U.S. into World War II. The U.S. was worried that Hawaii might be overrun by the Japanese and that large amounts of U.S. currency would fall into enemy hands. Therefore, they created a series of emergency bank notes solely for use of residents and troops in Hawaii and the Pacific. Issued from July 1942- October 1944, the series ended when it became clear that Hawaii was no longer likely to fall to the Japanese. Each of these 1935A series emergency bills was printed with a brown seal instead of the usual blue seal on Silver Certificates. The word Hawaii is printed on both sides. If these bills fell into enemy hands, they would have simply been demonetized and made worthless. The About Uncirculated condition proves how well-preserved the note remained. It is protected behind clear plastic in a custom display wallet accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.  Note: All coin items considered for return must be in their original condition as sold. To mark the new era, the U.S. Mint has packaged 3 examples of dollar currency from the year 2000. The star piece is a burnished uncirculated Sacagawea Dollar featuring the Shoshone teenager holding her infant son. The D-mint coin is especially meaningful because it's from the first year of issue. Shining next to it is a Brilliant Uncirculated Silver Eagle bearing Adolph A. Weinman's Walking Liberty design on the obverse. The 1 oz. silver dollar was struck at the West Point mint, but doesn't bear a "W" mark. The year 2000 was the first time that Brilliant Uncirculated Silver Dollars were minted at West Point other than a 1995-W proof coin series. The Royal Bank of Scotland printed two million Nicklaus notes, but just a fraction have been saved in such fine condition. The note and its accompanying montage of action photos are framed floating in a glass frame. Jack Nicklaus won the British Open three times and each of his wins took place in Scotland. The note was formally unveiled on July 14, 2005 at the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, site of the 2005 British Open championship. A certificate of authenticity accompanies the bill. Eisenhower started the "Operation Torch" campaign against German Field Marshall Erwin Rommel (the "Desert Fox") in North Africa in November 1942, the U.S. troops carried unique currency with them. Since the U.S. was worried that large amounts of U.S. money would fall into enemy hands they created a series of emergency bank notes solely for use of troops in that area. Each of these 1935A series emergency bills was printed with a yellow seal instead of the usual blue seal on Silver Certificates. If these bills fell into enemy hands, they would have simply been demonetized and made worthless. The one--time issue in 1942 was used again in the Allied invasion of Sicily in 1943. The note is protected behind clear acrylic in a display wallet with a story card to explain its uniqueness. A certificate of authenticity accompanies each note.
